Hi EskieFriends,

My name is Elise. I came from a bad place in Idaho, but I didn't know it was bad because I never knew anything else. Kim says the old woman who had me was a backyard breeder/puppymill. There were lots of other dogs there, too, and we just lived in cages and made puppies. Some people came and got me out of there.

I had spay surgery so I would not have any more puppies. Those people brought me and 5 of the other dogs to Heart Bandits in CA. I like it at Dan and Kim's because there are more dogs there like me...but we are not cold or hungry, and we get to run in the yard alot to play. Sometime's I think I like Kim and I will let her pet me. I will take treats from her hand, too. But other times I forget who I am and try to bite her. Kim tells me that I am safe and I will learn that, but I'm not sure. I know dogs but I don't really know what people are and I still don't trust them.

I broke my leg pretty bad, nobody knows how and I am not telling. I broke my radius and ulna. The bones were so shattered that I had to have surgery. The Dr had to take bone from my upper leg to have enough bone to put pins in. The surgery took 3 hours. I have had to wear a cast for weeks, and had several trips back to the Dr to make sure I am healing properly. They took my hard cast off and put a softer one on.

My bill was really big but Dan and Kim says I am worth every penny. Kim says with patience and love, someday I will trust people and be ready for a family and home of my own.....a family that will LOVE me for me....not as a puppy maker!!! I'm SOOOO happy to be out of that puppymill. Hope all my "puppymill buddies" are safe.
