Rosco is a one-year-old male American Eskimo
rescue dog. He is very sweet, gentle and
kind. Rosco's family sent him out in the
cold to become a stray. We don't know how
long Rosco was a stray in Kentucky, but long
enough to get a broken rear leg (perhaps
he was hit by a car). While Rosco lived on
the streets, his leg healed itself improperly.
Now Rosco walks with a limp, and he is in
constant pain. Rosco is only one year old.
He's very smart, loving, and has a long life
ahead of him.
Rosco will need an operation to fix his leg
properly so he can use his leg properly and
move without pain. The fee for this operation,
even with a rescue discount, will run about
$1,500. If you are interested in making a
donation to help repair Rosco's leg, please
let us know by Emailing

Rosco's Update Page

Update on Rosco … A Very Special Eskie |
 |
Rosco originally came from Kentucky. He was
then transported to Illinois, and then to
St. Louis, Missouri. Rosco is only about
1-1/2 years old. He was a stray and probably
was hit by a car. His leg healed without
any medical treatment because he was a stray
and had no one to take care of him. He was
picked up by Animal Control and brought to
the Kentucky shelter. No one at the shelter
had any money to fix his leg. So American
Eskimo Rescue of St. Louis came to Rosco’s
rescue! And we are happy to do so. Rosco
is scheduled for surgery on January 9 at
Veterinarian Specialists in Bridgeton, Missouri.
The doctor feels confident they can fix Rosco’s
leg and he will be fine. The price to fix
his leg is estimated at $1600 for the surgery.
The maximum amount that they estimate is
$2000. After surgery he will have to stay
quite for 2 months. He will go back once
a month for two months after the surgery
to have some x-rays to make sure that everything
is healing properly.
Rosco’s foster mom reports that Rosco is
a really sweet, VERY smart little guy. He
already has learned sit, down, and come.
He’s such a great, happy dog. He wants nothing
more than love and attention.

Thank you to everyone who has helped this
little dog, Rosco. He will definitely be
healthier and happier when he is in less
pain from the leg. Without your generous
contributions to help Rosco, we may not have
been able to do this. Now he will have a
working leg and be able to play without pain.
We are very grateful.
Please watch for updates on this page. We
will
update again after Rosco’s surgery on January 9. Again,
thank you for your generous gift!
