My name is Comet. I was picked up as a stray in the San Bernardino area where I was left for dead, and taken to the San Bernadino Animal Shelter. I'm a small standard Eskieboy, extremely good natured and friendly for all I've been through. They estimate my age at 8 years old. I have a wonderful outlook on life and the zest to live it out!

Lori Pasch of CA HeartBandits came to my rescue and boy was I glad. I was so happy! I bounced around in her car and wanted to sit in her lap the whole way home. I tried to make friends with the other two rescues (non-eskies) in the car but there was a competition between another male and me for the female Pomeranian's attention. Guess who won? Yep, thats right - I was rubbing noses and kissing the girl all the way!!

I get along good with other animals. I look for direction as to how I should act. I'm a bit handshy but I get over it as soon as I am rewarded with a pat on the head, and I know you will not hurt me. I have a big heart with a loving personality.

Lori thinks I may have had some abuse in the past or I hurt myself running away from something. I have a torn cruciate ligament in my hind leg and could barely put any pressure on it. When it bothered me, I stretched it out all the way and did not move it, while laying on my side. When I was on all fours, I picked my leg up and hopped in an attempt to walk and run normally like all the other dogs. Lori says the sad look in my eyes is a heartbreaker and just pulls at your heartstrings.

I have had a very rough time lately and I was praying that someone would come along and make me all better.

Guess what?? My prayer has come true. I had surgery today. I'm not feeling too peppy now right now, but FosterMom Lori says I'll be all better in the coming weeks. They also cleaned my teeth.

My bill is $1,013. Judith Ciani Smith has graciously donated $500 to my care. EskieFriends is paying the remaining $513, sending it directly to the vet. I am so thankful that Lori, Judith and you--my EskieFriends--thought I was worth so much money. But I'm telling you, I am worth EVERY penny!! I am priceless.
