Tina's Story
Tina updates at bottom of this page

Hello, my name is Tina

I am a very young kitty and I am not feeling very good these days.A few weeks ago, I got lost from my people. I wandered all around trying to find my family or any family to love me, but I couldn't find anyone. I was all alone and it was very cold. My meow was very loud and strong, but still I could find no one to help me.

I got so cold my little ears froze and that hurt a lot. Then I got the inside of my mouth burnt; I can't even talk about how this happened. But it hurt very, very bad. After that, it hurt to eat and drink, so I figured I'll just stop doing that. Even though my tummy was telling me to eat, I said, "No, my mouth hurts too bad." I just wandered around trying to find someplace warm, someone to love me. I still couldn't find anyone. Well, after a while I started getting weak and tired all the time, I noticed I could see all of my bones. My mouth continuously leaked saliva, because of the burn, and it froze to my chin and chest. This made some of my beautiful fur fall out.

I couldn't clean myself because my little tongue was so burned, so my fur got very messy and matted. I smelled really bad too. A bunch of fleas came to live on me. I didn't like this, but they would not leave.

One day I wandered into a man's yard, I was hoping he would love me and make me better. He gave me food and water and made some phone calls until he found someone who would come get me and help me.

Then I went to this house where this lady takes care of animals. There was lots of white, smiling dogs there. I figured this was a pretty good place to be. All the animals were happy here. My new human loved me and gave me food and water. My new human said I was the worst case of neglect and/or abuse she'd even seen I only felt like eating and drinking a little, though. I was pretty sick and weak. For the first time in a long time I was finally warm and dry. My new human rushed me to the doctors first thing next morning. She knew I was in very bad shape.

They did all kinds of things to me there. Some were good, some not so good. I know they were trying to help me, though. They gave me medicine and food and injected water in me. And they even cleaned me. I was halfway beautiful again. I was missing fur here and there, though. I only weighed 3.8 pounds. The next day my new human came to get me. She took me to the place with the happy animals. I still wasn't feeling very well, though. She kept me for a couple of days. Then one night I got very weak and I could barely move. She rushed me to the emergency room. She drove very fast.

They did things to me there and I felt better. My temperature was only 95 degrees. That's not enough at all. Now I only weighed 2.5 pounds. And my blood glocose (whatever that is) was so low it wouldn't even measure on their machine. They hooked all kinds of stuff up to me. Some days I feel better than others. They say I still may not make it. But I'm trying.

My human has a really big bill to pay now, and needs some help with that. The Eskie Auction said they would help my mom with my bills. Aren't they great? My foster mom has lots of other animals to take care of so that helps her a lot.

Love,
Tina
