Keeshond Fused Glass Water Fountain Donated by Lucie Gallaher, Sheri Mason, Susan Fuertes item# 54 This unique fused glass working water fountain measures approximately 8" by 11". The large flat bowl measures approximately 8" x 3 1/2". This is fused glass, not stained glass. Fused glass is created by using a special powder to create the image and then the piece is fired in a kiln. This process allows the artist to get incredible detail on each piece. The water fountain has a wide glass arch with a full body Keeshond (you'll get a Keeshond, even though the image at right shows a GSD) that is surrounded by a pile of dog bones. The glaze color is Blueberries which is a lovely mixture of blues and greens. The color(s) of the dog bones will complement the colors in the blueberry glaze. Each unique fountain takes 3-4 weeks to create. The fountain will be mailed to the lucky winner when it's completed.

5 Pounds Of 'Maytag' Blue Cheese Donated by John and Shadow Klaus and the other Klaus canines item# 20 Five Full Pounds of "Maytag Blue Cheese"! Maytag Dairy Farms, in Newton Iowa, was established by the heirs of Fred Maytag Sr., the founder of the Maytag appliance business. In 1941 the Maytag family learned of a new process for making blue cheese developed at Iowa State University, in nearby Ames, and began to produce a handmade blue cheese that many acclaim as the finest blue cheese made in the United States--perhaps in the world. The cheese is made from sweet, raw milk produced on the home farm or those nearby, and is aged for a minimum of six months in limestone caves carved specifically for the purpose.
