Hi Folks,

I'm Keesha, a beautiful "golden" Keeshond, and I am speaking for all us older dogs. None of you have met me yet. I'm still with MY family, but won't be for long. My owners are moving and can not take me with them. Maybe it's because "Mom" is pregnant, maybe because they are not allowed to have dogs in the new house (is this really true?), maybe because my 2L-sibling developed an allergy (funny…I never noticed it!), maybe they just don't want me anymore (but they won't tell you that).....I don't really know. All I know is, I will need a new home soon.

On this page are some pics of some of my fellow "golden" Keesie and Eskie Friends! Gorgeous, aren't we!?!?! ;-)

I'm 10 years old, but act more like 4 (yes, us Kees are like that). My health is good but that won't matter. See......most people want young dogs and puppies. They do not want an older dog like me. They say I don't have many years left.....so what? Please help me enjoy the years I have left. They say I might have medical problems....I don’t now and maybe I never will. Even if I do, aren't I worth it? Some say they don't want me because they have just experienced a Keesie's death....Did you ever think I might die IF no one wants me? Doesn't that bring you to tears? It sure does me!! Shelters don't keep us old ones very long.

There are very special people in the dog world; they are known as rescuers. Some rescuers won't take in us "old ones". They have no room for a "forever" fostergirl like me. They don't even give us a chance to get adopted. Some rescuers DO take us in and place us in loving homes (thank you very much from the bottom of my fuzzy heart). Haven't you ever heard that adding an older dog to your family is truly a blessing?

Keeshond Lovers United Inc (KLU) is determined to help us older dogs. They established the "Gidget Fund"….just for us. They want to place us "senior dogs" in the homes of "senior humans". The "2L seniors" need love too and WE 4L-seniors CAN DO THE JOB! Smiles and love guaranteed!! If the "2L seniors" need help in paying our medical and grooming bills, and even in buying us food (you all know we are such “ChowHounds”), the Gidget fund will help. If the "2L seniors" need transportation to get us petfood or to take us to the vet or groomer, KLU has "mentors" willing to provide transportation. Doesn’t this sound great!

Here is where you come in!! Won't you help this dream come true? You will be saving us 4L-seniors, and helping the 2L-seniors at the same time. Put yourself in the place of these 2L-seniors…..wouldn't you want a fuzzy dog in your life? If you couldn't afford a "best friend", but have plenty of love to share, wouldn't it be great to have financial help? Could you imagine living without one of us??

To bring happiness to the life of a rescue is a true blessing, and to watch them thrive and overcome their former lives is a blessing that we cherish.

Please bid high and bid often. See…..You will meet me soon. I hope there IS space, time and money so I can be placed with the Gidget Fund's assistance. We are not "that" old. Look into our eyes and let your heart be your guide. Deep down inside your fuzzy heart, I know you want to help. I promise it will do your heart good!

You haven't experienced the ultimate doggie love, until you have been owned by a senior dog! And you know, you don’t have to be a 2L senior to adopt a senior dog. If you have room, I wholeheartedly recommend you adopting an older dog TODAY! I'll be seeing you soon. Maybe I will be joining YOUR family. Thanks for all your support in……giving life a second chance, giving seniors a second chance. And remember, Seniors are truly a blessing!!
